“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and he went around doing good and healing all those who were oppressed of the devil.” (Acts 10:38)

If Jesus needed the anointing of the Holy Spirit, to move in power and drive the devil out from those in need, what makes us think we can do this thing called ‘Christianity’ without the anointing of the Holy Spirit??? Too many Christians today are good with discussing God. They may even be good with the name of Jesus. Oh…but once it comes to including the Holy Spirit…well, they will leave him at the front door and conduct their meetings and evangelism without Him. Um…since when did the Holy Spirit cease to be God? When we give our lives to the Lord, that means ALL of GOD!

The Holy Spirit may be the single greatest controversy in the church today. Too many arguments about what is still active and what isn’t. ‘The gifts were for then or are they for now.’ ‘Some of the gifts are in operation but not that tongues stuff.’ Some believe in being born again while others set that aside for intellectual faith. Really???

If it’s in the Word of God, I want all of it! “…as He was so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17) He gave us the Holy Spirit to do what He was doing when He walked the Earth. Again, if Jesus needed the anointing of the Holy Spirit, do we think we can go on without it, doing anything effective or truly lasting for God?
Let’s be sure we are filled with the baptism of fire…not just a baptism of water and repentance (Matt 3:11). We need the fire of His presence, purging us and equipping us! We need the Holy Spirit and all the gifting He provides for us to ‘see His kingdom come, His will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven’.
